Hello, hello! It's almost been a year since my last post but my final exams are over and I have a lot of free time - so it's time for a review! I think most of you already know about this product and I'm sure quite a lot of you own it. But hey, one more review won't hurt, right?
The packaging is plastic and a tub, as you can see. I don't have a huge problem with this but that's not the case for everyone; it's definitely less hygienic and it would be nice if it came with a spatula but it doesn't; not that I'm a big fan of that either. However, it is very pretty to look at. The colors and the picture are very nice!
The smell is very pleasant and refreshing as well, but like most cosmetics it's not natural, take a look at the ingredients here. You can see 'parfum', as well as some other substances you might be concerned about. It also contains some plant extracts which adds a nice boost :)
The gel itself is more watery than most aloe vera gels, but not to the point it's runny. It spreads very easily and if you apply a lot, it takes a while to absorb. Depending on how much you use, it may or may not be a little bit sticky, but it goes away fairly quickly. It's also cooling, so I love using it in summer!
I like using it on my face daily after my toner and before my moisturizer and after I remove my blackheads. That's because I feel like it helps with redness, since it's soothing and pretty mild, without making my skin oily. However, I would recommend against using this instead of moisturizer, as it is not moisturizing enough to use on its own. I also like to use this gel after I epilate and my skin is red, somehow I think it recovers faster. This is fabulous for my hair too. I have really dry and frizzy hair, but using some of the gel while my hair is wet tames it a bit. I've heard people say it's great as a pre-shampoo treatment for flaky scalp, so I plan to test it soon so I can tell you how I feel about that aspect.
To be honest, I think everyone should own some aloe vera gel (if not the plant itself, which is extremely useful for when you get burnt) and this is a good choice. It's not a miracle product for me but it has helped me a lot and it also is fairly cheap for the amount you get - so do try it!
